Application for MNYBA Church Affiliation
Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association (MNYBA)!
On behalf of all our churches, we thank God for you. MNYBA is an amazing collection of churches across the entire New York City Metro. Our churches range in size from a handful of people to hundreds in attendance. They meet in church buildings, schools, theaters and homes, and worship in multiple languages Like you, each of them has a unique and God-given mission.
MNYBA partners with you to accomplish that mission from God. We help churches plant churches, grow godly leaders and healthy church systems, and cooperate with other churches to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. We exist to connect local churches for global impact.
I have prepared this folder to assist you through the application process. Please read it carefully. The folder contains the application, a copy of our doctrinal statement, and some promotional materials about MNYBA. The application includes the following steps:
The church submits an MNYBA covenant application, including all supporting documents, to admin@mnyba.org;
The church schedules an orientation with MNYBA staff on the mission of MNYBA, how the association works with churches, and the benefits and expectations MNYBA churches; and
The MNYBA Administrative Team approves the application and Watchcare begins.
During Watchcare, both the association and the church get to know one another better. The Association provides opportunities for fellowship, prayer, and training. The church has an opportunity to participate fully in the all the activities of MNYBA and fulfill the expectations of membership in the Association, including financial support of MNYBA. At the end of Watchcare, if both Association and Church want to move forward, the Administrative Team presents the church to the Executive Board for approval for full membership. Watchcare shall be no shorter than 6 months.

MNYBA General Information & Guidelines
Thank you for your application to affiliate with the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association (MNYBA). We are honored that you want to cooperate together to reach the NYC Metro for Christ. Your church is a part of what God is doing in our association.
There are many opportunities for training, prayer, and fellowship with other churches in MNYBA. Feel free to take part whenever possible. Getting to know other churches in our association will deepen your appreciation for what God is doing in our city and region.
The associational staff is available to serve you at any time. Please consider them an extension of your ministry. They will be glad to meet with you to talk about what they do for our churches and how they can serve you.
We send to our churches, pastors and leaders a weekly e-letter. The e-letter includes updates, events, prayer requests, and God stories of conversions, new churches, baptisms and ministry events. These e-letters are a wonderful aid to prayer and connection with MNYBA. If you do not receive this, please email Grace Harris at gharris@mnyba.org and ask to be added to our newsletter. If you would like others in your church to receive this, include their names and email addresses as well.
Each year, we ask your church to submit an annual report of your work called the Annual Church profile (ACP). The profile is simple to fill out and provides MNYBA with a brief description of what the Lord is doing in your church.
The churches of MNYBA can greatly benefit from your ministry and experience. We would like to explore ways where you can help churches minister, grow and reproduce.
The Metropolitan New York Baptist Association is grateful for your interest in affiliating with us. We share your desire to make disciples of all peoples. We believe that together we can have a global impact for Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).
