All of us are saddened by the devastating earthquake in Haiti, but no one feels this tragedy more than our Haitian brothers and sisters here in New York. I have spent the day talking and praying with our Haitian pastors. I can just sense their anxiety as they await any news of their loved ones back home. Many prayer meetings are calling God's people to pray on behalf of Haiti.
Many of you across MNYBA have asked how you can help, wanting to send money or to travel to Haiti to assist in the recovery.
To help coordinate our support for our Haitian brothers and sisters, MNYBA will set up a designated account to collect any financial contribution you or your church may want to give. We will follow the counsel and recommendations of our Haitian Church Fellowship Director, Rev. Guy Florival, and Rev. Jean Thomas and other Haitian pastors about how to use the funds we collect. One hundred percent of what we collect will go to express the sympathy and the comfort of Jesus.
Let me ask you to do the following:
Pray that the Spirit of God might comfort the grieving and sorrowful.
Ask the Father what you and your church may give to help. Send your contribution to MNYBA, 236 W. 72nd St., NY, NY 10023
Help us get this word out to as many churches as possible.
Stay in touch with our web site for further information.
Thank you for your heart to serve and your willingness to give so that others may heal.
